Dr. Timo Holzborn, of counsel in Orrick’s Munich office, is a member of the Business Unit Corporate/Practice Group Capital Markets and has been advising clients regarding capital markets, banking and financial law for more than 10 years. He also advises in the fields of investment law, corporate law (incl. M&A) and carbon trading. He is a certified lawyer for banking and capital markets law.

Timo Holzborn focuses his practice on transactions with banks and listed as well as private companies.

He advises on financial transactions, takeovers, mergers, squeeze-outs, IPOs, as well as in the area of corporate governance and compliance. He has special knowledge in the field of (renewable) energies/carbon trading, banking and insurances as well as in technology.

Before joining Orrick in 2012, Mr. Holzborn worked for several international law firms.

After his bank apprenticeship Timo Holzborn studied law in Bonn and then worked as a lawyer for Deutsche Börse AG in Frankfurt in the areas management board, securities admission, takeover commission and legislative procedures. In addition to his work as a lawyer since 2002 in the fields of capital markets, banking law, stock exchange matters and corporate law as well as carbon trading law, Timo Holzborn has also gained extensive experience as a visiting lecturer at Düsseldorf University, the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management and during conferences and seminars. He is the publisher of a prospectus law commentary and author of several publications on corporate and capital markets law, e.g. “Handbuch börsennotierte AG” and “Spindler/Stilz Kommentar AG” (Handbook on Listed Stock Corporations, Spindler/Stilz Commentary on Stock Corporation Act).
