Stanley J. Dirks

Stan Dirks is a partner in the San Francisco office and a member of the firm’s Public Finance Department, serving as Chair of its nationally prominent Housing Finance Group.  He represents issuers and underwriters of tax-exempt bonds to finance single family and multifamily housing, power plants, airports, and water systems.  He works with both state and local housing finance agencies, and has experience with virtually every type of financing structure available to the tax-exempt housing finance market.  He also has extensive experience in workouts and restructuring of troubled housing finance issues.  

Mr. Dirks has served as a lecturer and panelist on a variety of programs concerning state and local government debt issuance. He also served for ten years as one of the original members of the Technical Advisory Committee of the California Debt and Investment Advisory Commission.

Mr. Dirks also has a long history of involvement in the governance of nonprofit education and arts organizations.
